ABOUT SHIMMERSONG
JOLT and Footscray Community Arts Centre are proud to present SHIMMERSONG- the latest sonic art installment from the acclaimed Amplified Elephants ensemble. Founded by James Hullick and the participants of the Artlife Program at Footscray Community Arts Centre, The Amplified Elephants are an inter-abilities ensemble of cutting edge sonic art musicians. The Elephants will join forces with the BOLT ensemble in an afternoon of hypnotic electronic and acoustic sounds framed under pools of blue light emanating from screens of projected images. This show draws attention to the body of the performer. Images of the body when performing are projected and abstracted into liquid-like morphing landscapes of color and hue. From 3pm on Sunday 16th November 2007 at the Footscray Community Art Centre’s Basement Theatre, audiences will be treated to a unique afternoon of sonic and visual envelopment in the meditative pool of Australia’s world leading Amplified Elephant artist.
Experience the sculptural and visceral quality of sound as a meditation.
SHIMMERSONG is an 40 minute single work and will be the only work presented on the day. If the last show the Amplified Elephants presented is anything to go by, then this show promises to be a hum-dinger!
