Teagan Connor
voice / kaossillator / synthesisers / electronics / percussion
Having joined The Amplified Elephants in 2013, Connor has rapidly developed her sonic talents locally and abroad. Connor’s work is informed by fantasy and science fiction aesthetics and ideas, which Connor realises through multi-instrumental and vocal means that emphasise found sound percussion and electronic synthesis.
In 2022, Teagan will launch her new book COLOURS OF AUTUMN, which blends manga and Disney story telling in marvellous ways.
In her work with The Amplified Elephants, Teagan has recently released the album DEEP CREATURES (2021, Heavy Machinery records) and performed in the 15-min development of HAGOROMO with Japanese Noh singer Ryoko Aoki. Both works will see their full live premieres coming out of COVID-19.
In 2015, Connor toured to Tokyo, Hong Kong and Macau with the show SELF SEEKERS, a project, which highlighted her interest in the tactile nature of sonic performance. The project was remounted in 2017 at the Make It Up Club and then a much longer version premiered for the Festival of Live Art in 2018. In Japan, Connor recorded with local artists Cal Lyall and Pardon Kimura.
Teagan is an award winning and emerging science fiction author.
